I’m taking a little liberty with this Meet the Exes Monday, because I actually never dated Skater Boy. We went to high school together, and were friends at best. But this post does come with a little stalking– if that’s not ex material than what is?
I remember once in ninth or tenth grade Skater Boy followed me home from the bus stop. I mean it, followed me. I remember the more I ignored him, the more he kept talking to me. When I turned onto my street, he was still a few steps behind. So I ducked in a neighbor’s house to wait him out. I was admittedly a little freaked by the stalker-like behavior, but I guess I should have been a a bit flattered. It’s not like I had tons of boys following me anywhere back then. (Well, or anywhere now for that matter.)
He was a punk, she did ballet What more can I say?
He also used to draw pictures of me in class. At the time it seemed a little creepy, but again maybe it should have been flattering.
He was a skater boy, she said see ya later boy he wasn’t good enough for her
So when Avril Lavigne’s Sk8er Boi song came out several years ago, I thought of him immediately. What if he turned out to be some rock star and I was too busy being a snob about it?
Recently he friended me on Facebook so I learned he still looks like a skater boy, and does record music. Though I’m not sure I’ll be seeing him rockin’ up MTV or you’ll be seeing me backstage after the show.
Stylishly yours,
Miss Attitude

This was the first “real” un-preschool song that my daughter loved. I love Avril! If he did all that and never asked you out I’d admit it, I’d be a little freaked out too.
It sounds flattering, but as a high school girl I would have been a bit freaked out too!
About 8 or 9 years ago I had someone from high school find me. I sent him a pic I use for almost anything. He used my pic as his background on his computer. I was more than a little freaked out.
So even now I would have been freaked out by that.
