Love the comments! :love: Thanks for saying what I am not supposed to say. :wink: We hope to make this a yearly contest & won't let the negative comments stop us from doing just that. We have learned alot from this experience & believe me, we will be changing a few things but it has been so much fun watching the voting & seeing the support & enthusiasm. :) I hope that everyone doesn't lose sight of the fact that 17 local companies are so willing & eager to contribute to this contest. Most of these companies didn't know us before we approached them about this contest. None of them hesitated to join us! We did have a few that declined but I bet they wish they were involved now! Did you ever think Miss Attitude that the reason they may be ahead is the Lord saw not only there yard is the worst but that there attitude & spirit is in the right place... The title totally cracked me up!! The path this contest has taken has been exciting in many ways, but you're right... it got ugly there for a while. It was quite disheartening and a little nerve racking for me as the insults started rolling in. My husband and I are just overzealous and overly committed to trying to win. Why not? The great thing is... we've been in contact with ALL our friends each and every night as we place "our nightly calls" to them. It's been fun to talk to everyone everyday. (I can't say they won't start screening their calls soon tho!) :lol: I am shocked that so many people decided to be so mean to us. We just got creative and thought of ways to reach out to the people around us. Friends love to help other friends out. Our hearts have been warmed by those supporting us. What a lovely feeling... So, I saw you placed your vote in our favor too... MUCH THANKS!! We even noticed Jack Alexander, the winner of the art contest, votes for us also. He emailed me and told me that everywhere he goes on the website he sees me thanking people who vote for us. We want people to know we appreciate their time and effort, which is why this has become our 2nd job!! :) My husband and I now officially work the graveyard shift! :p And no... none of my students even know about this contest. They have much more important things to worry about, like reading assessments, math quizzes, making friends, learning rules, and remembering to get their planners signed! They have no time to be bothered with a silly little $16,000 backyard makeover for their newly married teacher that put all her savings into a down payment!! HA! So, thanks for spreading a little cheer and humor over this moment in our lives! I almost feel like Paris Hilton with all this drama and publicity! :) Almost... but not quite... thank goodness!!
