Resolutions schmesolutions!

new-year-resolution-cartoon-1

I don’t believe in New Year’s Resolutions. There I said it. I think it’s silly to say you’re going to do a bunch of things in the new year just because it’s Dec. 31. That being said I do believe in setting goals you can actually achieve. Lifestyle changes if you will.

I truly believe it’s about making changes or setting goals that you can actually accomplish to improve the quality of your life. When I turned 34 I made a list, and last year around this time I gave you an update.

I’m proud to say I’ve accomplished some of those things, including losing weight. Since I started using the Lose It app about four months ago, I’ve lost 21 pounds. Okay, maybe a few have been gained here on vacation, but once I get home, game on!

Others, I didn’t do so well with. Some I’ve decided to let go (buying a new pair of Manolo Blahniks– hard to justify when you can’t pay your mortgage), others still remain on my list (getting married in Vegas– still gotta try!)

But I’ve got some changes coming in 2010 that are more important to me right now. I’m not quite ready to share them publicly on the blog. It’s not that I’m trying to be a tease, but when the time is right I will share. I promise.

How about you? Do you believe in making New Year’s resolutions? If so, how long are you able to keep them? Or are you with me on resolutions schmesolutions and willing to set goals you can actually accomplish?

Stylishly yours and Happy New Year’s!
Miss Attitude

I don’t do resolutions, I believe in trying to improve myself constantly not just for the New Year. I hate to set myself up for failure. So yes I’m with you on resolutions schmesolutions! 8)

    Happy New Year!!

  2. My theory is, why wait ’til the New Year to start a change that you need now? I’ve never really consciously resolved to do something just because a new year rolls around….

So I guess, I’m with you.

My resolution last year was to be a better gift giver…mission accomplished! Now to keep it up! My resolution this year…take my pup out on more walks. She loves them! & it also gets me out of the house and active as well. I don’t make big resolutions…just little ones.

Resolves to not let Miss Attitudes posts get to be 12 hours old before I read them :D

  7. I’m starting a diet – as soon as I finish this piece of pecan pie:)

  8. I got all crazy this year and instead of doing resolutions, I decided to do goals. On a side note, that sheep’s resolution made me laugh a little too loud.

I think a trip to Vegas is in order … husband or not. And, if you don’t come here soon, I may be forced to come there.

yeah, I’m not a big fan of the ol’ resolutions. I like making goals instead. Though to be honest, we’re a week in and I’ve yet to set those goals. Oops.
