Delusional ramblings of sick, single girl

Look, I realize most people don’t like being sick. It’s not like it’s any fun to have a fever and chills or cough like you’re hacking up a lung, but I really hate being sick. Loathe it. It’s one of the times when I can’t help but think being single just sucks.

Don’t get me wrong most of the time, I love my answer-to-no-one-but-me lifestyle, but it would be nice to have someone to get me chicken soup and Goldfish crackers. Or go to the drug store to get the medicine I need. Maybe I just delusion myself that married people have an advantage over me, that their spouses wait on them hand and foot when they’re sick. Maybe, that doesn’t happen at all. But let me have my delusion.

Yesterday, when I first admitted to myself I was indeed sick, I asked a boy I know to touch my forehead and tell me it felt hot. He did and said yes it did. Then he ran for his antibacterial soap faster than you can say sick.

As if touching my forehead would make him spontaneously ill! What I wanted to hear, was you poor girl, let’s get you home and taken care of. See delusional again. Now as write a day later I’m still thinking, where’s someone to take care of me? I haven’t eaten anything in nearly 24 hours, and if you know me at all that’s not normal. I haven’t even updated my Facebook or Twitter status, what does that tell you?

I have a doctor’s appointment this afternoon, and darn if I don’t wish someone would drive me there and then go get the prescriptions filled for me afterward, assuming I get some good stuff to make whatever this is go away!

All right, enough of my whining. I’m sure in a day or two I’ll be feeling like my most fantabulous single self and not even remember writing these ramblings.

Stylishly yours,
Miss Attitude

Hope you feel better soon! I would bring you soup if I could. Friends are just as good as spouses/boyfriends when you are sick…they bring you what you need and leave so you can sleep in peace.

I’m the opposite, when I’m sick I just want to be left alone to lay in bed and sleep, however that doesn’t always happen.

I find that being married and having a child means you never get a sick day! :o
However, when the husband gets sick THE WORLD MUST STOP!! :D

I totally understand what you are saying, when I get sick the first thing I think of is, can I get my Mom up here to take care of me like she did when I was 6 years old and sick in bed.

I wish I lived closer I would have picked up your meds and brought you soup w/ gold fish crackers. I hope you feel better soon. *hugs*

  3. Feel better soon! If it’s any consolation, I was hacking up a lung last night and Aidan ran screaming, telling me to “keep my sickness to myself!”
